Dr. Stanley M. Hordes, The Sephardic Legacy in New Mexico: A History of the Crypto-Jews

Dr. Hordes is an Adjunct Research Professor at the Latin American and Iberian Institute of the University of New Mexico. He will discuss the history of the crypto-Jews from the 14th and 15th centuries in Spain through the migration to New Spain and colonial period of New Mexico. Remnants of the culture and practice remain today and will be exhibited
He was a Fulbright Scholar and received his Ph.D. from Tulane University. He has written the award winning To the End of the Earth: A History of the Crypto-Jews of New Mexico.
